#ACGME2026 for International Attendees: Grow Your Global Network in San Diego

January 26, 2026

Taking place in just a few weeks’ time at the San Diego Convention Center and Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina in San Diego, California, US, international attendees of the 2026 ACGME Annual Educational Conference will have access to ample opportunities to network, learn, and share during the largest annual gathering of graduate medical education (GME) professionals in the world!

To help you make the most of the three days in San Diego, we’ve listed some highlights to help with your #ACGME2026 planning!

Networking with Global Peers
There is no better place to grow your network than the ACGME Annual Educational Conference, where thousands of fellow GME professionals gather to connect, learn, discuss, share, and enjoy. Take advantage of both formal and informal opportunities to meet and chat with new connections and fortify long-standing relationships.

The annual International Reception will be held on the evening of Friday, 20 February, in Room 15A of the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC), starting at 6:00 p.m. local time. This informal gathering brings together international attendees and others interested in global GME, as well as leaders and staff members from the ACGME (including ACGME Global Services) and ACGME International (ACGME-I). All conference attendees are welcome!

The Exhibit Hall, located in the SDCC, will open with the Marvin R. Dunn Welcoming Poster Reception and Exhibitor Kick-Off on Thursday, 19 February, at 5:00 p.m. local time. Attendees will be able to meet colleagues from around the world in a leisurely environment and celebrate the start of the conference. Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will also be available in the Exhibit Hall on Friday and Saturday during the conference, providing a centralized location for networking or simply an impromptu chat with a new colleague. Learn more about activities and offerings planned for the Exhibit Hall.

Within the Exhibit Hall is the ACGME Hub, where you can speak with staff members representing various ACGME departments and initiatives. Like in previous years, ACGME Global Services and ACGME-I will team up at a joint ACGME Hub kiosk where representatives will be available to answer any questions about international operations and accreditation, or just to chat and connect. Learn more about the ACGME Hub.

Finally, to ceremonially close the three days of learning, sharing, and connecting, ACGME President and Chief Executive Officer (and Chair of the ACGME-I Board of Directors) Debra F. Weinstein, MD, alongside the ACGME leadership, will host the annual Toast on the Terrace with ACGME Leadership. Mingle one last time with fellow attendees, as well as staff members from the ACGME and ACGME-I, to celebrate new and growing connections made at the conference.

Highlighting Research and Innovation
During the aforementioned Marvin R. Dunn Welcoming Poster Reception and Exhibitor Kick-Off, attendees can explore the many posters showcasing the latest GME research and innovations from across the globe, and engage with their presenters.

Over the years, conversations held around the posters have led to further innovations and new research collaborations, making this an excellent opportunity to not just learn about current research, but also to network with colleagues to find paths for future partnerships – that we may see displayed at future conferences!

San Diego
Do not miss opportunities to explore and enjoy the beautiful city of San Diego! Whether it is to visit the beautiful beaches and coastline, or to enjoy some of the best local cuisine in the nearby Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego has plenty to offer all attendees.
