As part of its commitment to program improvement, the ACGME conducts site visits annually for about one to two percent of programs with a Continued Accreditation status through a random sampling process. These site visits are in addition to other types of site visits the ACGME may conduct. The site visits help assess program compliance with the Common and specialty- or subspecialty-specific Program Requirements in support of the ACGME's Mission.
Programs selected for 2026 site visits were notified of their future site visit target date on December 11, 2025. The site visit target date is an approximate date when the site visit may be scheduled. Field Activities will contact programs to initiate scheduling of the site visit.

ACGME Seeks Appeals Panel Members
The ACGME is seeking physicians to serve on standing Appeals Panels for the following specialties:
- Allergy and Immunology
- Child Neurology
- Colon and Rectal Surgery
- Medical Genetics and Genomics
- Nuclear Medicine
- Radiation Oncology
APPLICANT CRITERIA
- Must be certified by the relevant American Board of Medical Specialties member board or American Osteopathic Association certifying board.
- Must be able to devote sufficient time to the Appeals Panel work.
- Should have at least three years' experience as a program director, department chair, associate/assistant program director, and/or core faculty member.
- Applicants not currently serving in one of these roles may be considered if they held one of these positions within the last three years.
- Applicants’ programs must have a status of Continued Accreditation.

This program prepares physicians for the role of chief resident. It enhances self-awareness and understanding of personal leadership attributes; develops knowledge and appreciation of group and interpersonal dynamics; and teaches skills critical to success and satisfaction as a clinician and leader.

Details: This is a seven-day online workshop with one interactive, live session on January 15 from 12:00-1:30 p.m. Central. Participants must begin Day 1 on January 12.
Learn practical strategies for acting as a leader in the coordinator role, successful networking, overcoming challenges to professionalism, promoting achievements, and effectively navigating complex interpersonal situations.
Continuing Education Credit
This activity has been approved for continuing education credit by the Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME). Participants who complete the course in its entirety are eligible to receive 10 education credits in the content area of professional development.

Trends in MedEdPORTAL Faculty Development Resources for Clinician Educators

This study reviews MedEdPORTAL to identify trends in faculty development publications, highlighting current gaps and areas of scholarship potential for educators. The authors found that the most represented domains were teaching and learning; and assessment, evaluation, and feedback. The fewest faculty development resources were available for scholarly activity.
Transactional Competence, Reliability, and Trustworthiness: Essential Attributes of Successful Faculty and Residents

In this ACGME News and Views article, the authors argue that transactional competence—the consistent ability to fulfill commitments and responsibilities—is a fundamental attribute for both faculty members and residents in GME and fosters effective teamwork and professional performance. The authors also emphasize that reliability and trustworthiness are critical to building productive educational relationships and ensuring high-quality education and training outcomes.
